Cooperation Partners
The Helmholtz Graduate School POLMAR is based on a network connecting the AWI with the universities of Bremen and Potsdam, Jacobs University Bremen, Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology (Bremen), Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, and Institute for Marine Resources (IMARE). The partners already cooperate in the Bremen International Graduate School for Marine Sciences (GLOMAR), International Max Planck Research School of Marine Microbiology (MarMic), and the recently inaugurated Helmholtz Research School on Earth System Sciences (ESSReS).
Together with the AWI, the cooperating partners provide the educational and research-related opportunities and facilities for doctoral studies within POLMAR, and care for the necessary interactions of all participants. Doctoral studies are embedded in ongoing research projects under the supervision of scientists from the cooperating institutions. In close collaboration the partners involved in POLMAR will help to interlink the subject matters of individual doctoral theses and will encourage synergetic efforts between the PhD students.
POLMAR is open to associating with additional universities, research centres or networks regardless of their location, provided this is beneficial for functioning or impact.
